My Story
This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Generall I feel uncomfortable asking for donations, as all of us get numerous requests to donate to very noble causes. Being a parent, I can't see suffering of kids around me and this is a cause very dear to me and my family. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
I kick started my campaign with a ride on August 1, 2022 and have set following targets for 2023
- to pedal 750 kilometres throughout the month of August (last year I did 891 plus; lower than the last two years and this year it seems even more challenging with travel and other commitments. But I will wear GCC jersey in every ride to raise awareness. )
- do at least three 100KM plus rides by the end of the season....
- raise at least $7,500 ($10 for every km I ride) for the cancer research, atleast same as last year
Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
