My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.

    It was an incredibly busy day but we couldn’t miss a bike ride on Kick Cancer’s Butt Day. Our little friend in the background came pretty close to say hi. I tried to offer her a home but she decided to remain an outdoor deer. I suppose I respect that decision.

    Today was a very rainy day. Luckily by the time I was off work it was just drizzling. Blinky and I went to the park and had some fun. 14.7 kms

    Another very smokey evening. It’s been hard finding time to bike between working extra, the smoke and the thundershowers but I’m determined to make my goal this year.

    I didn’t realize people aren’t able to see the photos I’ve been adding to my rides like previous years. So I’ll have to add them in updates.

    This was from my first ride on Aug 1st. The smoke alert was at an 8 so I only did a short 8.8 km.
