I'm Riding For

Julia McQuinn

A former soccer player was diagnosed with aplastic anemia. She was only 12 years when she passed away in August 2016. She endured numerous hours at SickKids of blood transfusions and a bone marrow biopsy, ECHO and ECG. I was her soccer coach for two years and she was playing soccer on my team before she was diagnosed. She was one of my favourite soccer players. She was brave, strong and resilient! She is the inspiration for me riding. I am also riding for family members who have endured through cancer treatment. Through their strength comes inspiration.

My Story

This August, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, over 1,700 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it's the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support SickKids Foundation to allow them to continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
