Well I definitely hoping I’d be further in my KM than I am but at least I reach my goal pushing today to finish. Thank you to all those that donated to fight Kids’ cancer!
Here’s a quick picture after the last ride coming in right at the end (11:45 pm, August 31st).
Well, I got that ride in this weekend and man it felt so easy today. Pushing at the higher gears (that my bike can reach) felt super easy. I believe I logged some of my fastest times on flat runs and highest average. I know St. Albert is filled with hills but if you go down you most likely will have to go up at some point. So today I attacked those inclines but still tried to enjoy those down hill speeds when I could.
I think I have set some of my fastest average speeds so far and still haven’t fixed my gears. Currently I increase my average total speed for my work commute from 15 km per hour to 18 km but I have had top speeds of 25 km/hour on sections of my routes. I think if I can access those tops gears I could hit 30 km/hour.
Today’s timing to work was 24 minutes, best time so far considering the lights.
Unfortunately life happened and my bike got left at work for a few extra days. But I’ll be back on track to complete 200 km before August 30th!
I am sad I missed riding in the rain but the lightning this last week was a bit of a deterrent
This is likely back to my biking era where it was always just me and the bike riding to work or to meet up with friends, the later not so much anymore but the former more than ever.
It was a nice ride into work but dang was it a hot ride back. Not the hottest but the sun sure was shining. Just under 15 km to work and back to the house a great way to start and finish the day!
Ride number 3
Didn’t really have a plan, I just wanted to go around St. Albert. It was a fun ride with nice cool air.
The hills made me work for it but I didn’t stop just kept pedaling. Keep the momentum going.
1 hour and 27 minutes for 25 km is my new goal to beat. I am hoping for 1 hour and 15 by end of August but let’s hope for better.
Enjoy your evening
I got swept up in all the family get togethers, renovations and catching up on celebrations I missed in July. So I made time to retrieve my bike from work to get those kilometres in. I am trying to do more than last year and hopefully finish beating this year’s goal as well.
The ride was nice and cool as the sunset and everything seemed in my favour even the lights! This is probably my best time so far.
I was so excited to get started that I did a few laps around work to round up my Kilometres! I was also actually able to open up the bike a bit in terms of speed! Still need to access those tops gears so still some tweaking for this bike.
We ride! First day, here to hoping I can reach my donation goal this year.
Starting off with a nice easy 7 k to work 7 km back home after work. If possible I’ll be going for a ride this weekend to the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters to add some more bling to the bike.
