This has been my best cycle challenge year so far in terms of donations, and it's going to be my best year in terms of kms. I've hit the $2500 goal which is amazing, and I'm about $622 away from hitting a total of $10,000 over the 8 years that I've been doing these challenges.
I just want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported the challenge, asked questions, offered kind words, and put up with my waving the GCC banners (so to speak) in everyone's faces for the entire month.
I finally caved and bought an e-bike last Fall, so I have less of an excuse to avoid riding on the very windy days, of which we have many in Victoria. It doesn't mean I'm cruising with my feet up and no effort, in fact, I'm always pushing past the point where the assist shuts off (it won't provide any assist above 32km/hr), but the assist is very much appreciated going up hills. I'm still working up a sweat and getting a workout, and most importantly, wearing the GCC jerseys and getting the word out about the Sick Kids Foundation.
